Cambs SRA Boys Under 15 Grand Prix, Comberton SC, 22 January 2012

We had fifteen competitors, nine of whom were from the host club, and the afternoon saw some good competitive squash, all of it played in a very sporting spirit. The event began with three box leagues of five running in parallel, and this was followed by round robin play-offs among the three fifth-placed, fourth-placed, etc. players from each box league. It was a pity that the court time allocated for the tournament wasn’t sufficient, which meant that the play-offs had to be abbreviated.

The Brian Fielding Junior Tournament December 2011

It was ‘full house’ at Fenland Squash Club for this annual tournament in memory of county coach Brian Fielding.

All 32 players turned up on time, an organiser’s dream, and, to add to a great day, all matches were played and marked with impeccable sportsmanship.
The morning session was for players of 13 and under and was won by Harry Hennessy of Abbotsley with Jace Anderson of Ramsey in second position. Third was Adam Peer of Comberton and fourth Toby Darroch of Abbotsley.

Inter-counties weekend (Stage 1) Mens Division 1 (12th/13th November)

Cambridgeshire hosted the first County weekend of the 2011/2012 season at Hunts County SC. A team consisting of Galen Le Chemiant, Dan Soar, Robert Dadds, Neil Rossin and Steffan Morgan were hopeful of finishing in the top to places to gain a spot in the ‘promotion’ weekend.
